Amiodarone side effects

Was given Amiodarone 400 mg 2x a day for 3 days,after mitral valve surgery. Began to have hallucinations, and body twitching. Has anyone else had anything like that, and is there anything we can do to stop this??

    Mitch,  I was taking this drug with bad side effects for A-Fib so you can read my extensive comments about side effects elsewhere on this site.  I was started on 400mg for about two days and then my dosage was reduced to 200mg daily which is a standard approach for A-Fib.  I never experienced hallucinations or twitching but I did have shaking/trembling of the hands.  It was so intense that I could not write a check.  As you can see from my other postings, my many side effects grew more intense the longer I continued to take Amiodarone.  Is your doctor going to reduce your dosage to 200mg per day?  You need to immediately call your physician and advise him of the side effects you cited because I doubt they are normal.  Good luck.
