amitriptyline side effects for the past two years

For the past two years , I have persisted adverse side effects from this drug . I was initially prescribed by the doctor for my insomnia, since I had sleepless nights over my university workload. So I took the medication( amitriptyline ), it made me feel very groggy, nauseous, drowsy and it gave me all the adverse side effects . I stopped taking them after being on and off for two months, but I still had the adverse side effects from my severe dry mouth (oral thrush ) , dry ears , fluid retention due to the lack of circulation around the eye and urinal retention . Honestly this drug has prominently given me suicidal thoughts every morning I wake up with severe dry mouth and preorbital undereye . I am sick and tired of telling the GP about my problems , they don’t do anything not even a referral for a specialist of any kind . This deeply triggers my depression more because it's them that caused this yet , they can’t do anything . What are your thoughts ?
