Amitriptyline Withdrawl Symptoms

Hi Guys.

I have been on Amitriptyline for 2 years fluctuationg between 10mg and the odd 30mg but more often than not 20mg, I was put on it for a back injury, since i retired my back got a lot better, but i was starting with palpitations a lot, so i decided that i would come off the Trypties, I did it Cold Turkey about 7 weeks ago. now i am getting what i presume are withdrawl symptoms, I have the itching, but I also have had headaches for almost 3 weeks, and some of the time I go very light headed and feel dizzy, its scary, also my eyes seem to go very tired, I do not want to go back on them, but the symptoms that I am experiencing are rather frightening, even more so when you are 67yrs old, I have chatted with my doctor but he doesnt seem interested at all. What i would like to ask is, are these symptoms common and how long should i expect them to last.. any replies will be welcome. Health Wishes to everybody. Tankie1rtr, United Kingdom.
