    Hi,

I also stopped taking my BP meds (amlodipine-benazepril) a few days ago. And like you my, ankles were unbelievably swollen and i developed a rash on my fore legs also . Since I stop taking it I've noticed my ankles are not as swollen like before. Also be aware, one of the side effects of amlodipine is "rapid weight gain". I started this medicine back in Dec 2016. Since then I gain 35-40lb. I was trying to figure out what was going. I would workout, eat right, but I was still gaining weight. Then just last week I stumble over the side effects of Lotrel (amlodipine besylate and benazepril hydrochloride) include:

    cough,

    dizziness,

    lightheadedness,

    headache, and

    swelling of the hands/ankles/feet.

Serious side effects of Lotrel include:

    rash,

    new or worsened chest pain,

    yellowing skin or eyes (jaundice),

    nausea,

    upper stomach pain,

    itching,

    unusual weakness or tired feeling,

    rapid weight gain,

    fever,

    chills,

    sore throat,

    body aches,

    flu symptoms,

high potassium (slow heart rate, weak pulse, muscle weakness, tingly feeling), or

angioedema (swelling). Angioedema, if severe, can cause tongue and larynx swelling that inhibits or blocks the airway; this emergency condition needs immediate treatment.

This stuff is crazy. I'm kinda upset at my doctor for prescribing this to me. This stuff could poteintially kill you. If you we weren't paying attention.

    Take Care

    God Bless
