Amlodipine and Postpartum Hypertension

First day of taking 5 mg of Amlodipine and my heart feels like it's going faster than it should be. Having bad postpartum headaches. Plus it doesn't help to know that a side effects for this medication is headaches. Before I even take another 5 mg tomorrow and Friday. I will see how I can handle my blood pressure. Do anyone think its safe to do this?

Not bothering with my OBGYN cause he really didn't care about what I had to say about anything.
