I was put on Amlodipine about 2 1/2 months ago for slighlty high BP. (Im 45 super fit kick box all the time) About 1 month in I noticed heart palputations laying in bed at night , and small bouts of blurry vision. 2 month mark I was tired all the time and had chest and left arm pain. Been to ER had stress test, EKG etc blood test eveything OK.
Then out of nowhere brain fog hit, head aches, overall weakness nuasea, arm and chest pain. It took me noticing when I took a pill, arm pain got worse and had trouble swallowing. So found this site and took my last pill 11 days ago.
First 3 days vision better no brian fog. Day 7-8 bad flash back of wekness nausea chest and arm pain. Now day 11 of being off, it I still do not feel 100% left arm chest pain little better, nausea comes and goes. I am convinced it is Amlodipine Docotor says no. Ive had additional blood test this week, all came back fine. So two months taking it hoping at two week mark of not taking pills I really start to improve. As far as BP drinking beet juice once a day keeps it in check.

Hello Jeff, i was just reading your notes on Amlodipine drug as i have been prescribed , I am one month in now and feeling very rough as you explained in your description of symptoms. I feel very washed out as though i am horrendously run down. I have complained to my doctor but he's having none of it so I'm a bit lost with all this, I'm going to the gym and doing cardiovascular exercises, my BP goes up and down all the time. My medications are 24mil candersartan, 10mil Amlodipine, i feel like i want to ditch the amlodipine and see how i feel without consultation from my GP as i don't care anymore what his views are. Doctors are a waste of space and if i can do this myself i will. How are you feeling now and are your meds suiting you.
Thanks for listening

I was prescribed the Amlodipine 5mg once a day due to high blood pressure with Daflon and compression stocking after giving birth (130-140/80-90). After 5 days, out of balance. Then shortness of breath, high heart rate and anxiety. BP became normal (110-120/80). My Cardio decreased dosage to half a tablet a day (2.5mg) after 1 month. Out of balance and shortness of breath happens in the afternoon if i am tired or have anxiety. BP still normal (120/80). Cardio decreased dosage to 1/4 tablet (1.25mg) after 2 months to taper. No shortness of breath, normal heart rate, no out of balance. After 4 months, stopped taking amlodipine. However, had withdrawal symptom. Shortness of breath. On the 10th day, shortness of breath was the worst but bp and heart rate are normal. I thought of giving in and take the amlodipine again but was thinking that the amlodipine will go out of my system after 12 days. I focused on God. On the 11th day, shortness of breath is gone. I feel ok now. Thank you, God!

I am dealing with your exact same issue, been having , Heart palpitations, lightheaded/ dizziness, feeling faint at times, naseau. weird sensations in my left arm and hand. All labs come back normal. Ct Scan, brain MRI normal, wore a 14 day heart monitor all normal. recently been off meds for 12 days. I have changed doctors 3 times. New doctor thinks its stress and anxiety causing my problems. I remember my first doctor saying it was either HEART, HEAD, or MEDICINE causing the problem, in the begining that was 10
months ago. does anyone have insight that can help me.
