Amlodopine

When I first went  on high blood pressure tabs I was put on felphidine. This stopped my head aches made me feel better. Went to the docs. One day & they said we'll have to change to a different drug but it is very similar. They never explained why and I was doing so well. I went onto same dose 5mg but it was amlodopine.  I did feel fine. I noticed. I felt a bit unsteady when walking but. It wasn't too bad. 6 weeks ago my blood pressure was high so they up the dose to 10mg. I am very anxious as I notice there are so many negative comments about the drug which really makes me apprehensive. &  not happy about taking it.is comforting knowing your not alone . I'm in a right dilemma as doc will just say there safe & try and reassure  me. I'm still feeling off balance, dizzy at times. Tired aswell.  Anyone else had the same kind of problems?

Cheers

My main problems were swollen ankles and aches in the back of my calf. I had been feeling a bit dizzy on standing up, getting out of bed etc., but hadn't put it down to the tablets. Now I no longer take Amlodopine I am not having dizzy spells. So yes, I do think it could be the tablets.

You don't have to put up with this. Go back to your GP and ask him why he changed your meds then refer him tothe Amlodipine posts on this website.
