Amoxicillin and Zoloft, any thoughts?

I have posted about a possible UTI. Was prescribed Septra Ds but had a bad experience with it, full blown panick attack and anxiety. Have you taken Amoxicilin (penicillin antibiotic) while taking zoloft?

    Hi again,

As I said in your last post I am myself on amoxicillin 3 times a day and have been since last Friday. I have been fine other than last night I felt a bit nauseous but am not sure if that was the amoxicillin, sertraline mixing with amoxicillin, my sertraline dosage as it was upped a week ago or even a mix because I have also been taking - magnesium, vitamin b, vitamin d, omega 3, allicin, cold pressed black seed oil and pro biotics daily (dont ask my head says these are good)

Definitely will look into probiotics. I was told that I couldn't take probiotics until the infection was cleared. Thank you so

much for taking the time to respond. Can I ask you about your experience with Sertraline?

I have always taking pro biotics whilst taking anti-anti-biotics, purely because anti biotics will literally remove all bacteria good and bad so the pro biotic replaces the good.

And yes off course. I started begrudgingly on 50mg about October after refusing for about 4 weeks as I was concerned and spent hours googling them. You will find alot of negative comments/posts because the majority who use them and are successful dont need to google if that makes sense.

I chose to take mine in the evening and still do with a apple (dont ask why) for the first few weeks I woke up quite a bit middle of the night feeling not myself and quite almost confused but deep down knew it was the sertaline. I did have diazepam to take for this exact reason so that's what I done and within 30/40 mins I felt better and went back to sleep. During the day I was still feeling lightheaded and went back to drs they begrudgingly allowed me another dose of diazepam (alot of drs wont give any benzo out long term as the addiction can be deadly appparnelty)

I was ok over Christmas but had a few drinks and things seemed to get worse so I was back at the docs new years eve asking for more diazepam but the doctor wouldn't at first as I had already had about 42 2mg tablets over the 8 weeks but we compromised and my dosage of the sertaline was upped to 100mg and I was given 14 more diazepam. Today is day 8 and I have had vivid dreams and a bit of nausea (but I am also taking amocicillin) so have had to take a few diazepam but my biggest issue is weight gain which I am going to a dietician next week to chat about as I think my appetite has increased.

Oh and I did suffer night sweats for a couple weeks but touch wood that has subdued. My advice would be push through if you feel rough ask for diazepam to help the side effects I promise they help. If you have any questions ask away

Thanks for the reply! My Dr. prescribed klonopin to take at night. To be honest with you I am reluctant with that particular medication and only taken it about 5 times in a month (and only 1/2 a tablet). I am taking Cipro for a UTI and today I woke up at 6am with a pounding heart and scared straight. Got up and went for a 40 minute walk. A good friend of mine has been telling me to take it whole for just a few days straight just to stabilize myself, but I am so scared of having a reaction from the Klonopin, Sertraline and Cipro.
