Hi I started on 10mg about two months, Ago, then increased to 20mg and seemed to dull the intense back pain...now it just helps me sleep and the lainy during the day is high again and taking cocodimal 15\500 almost maximum during the day.. Dr said I could go to 30mg of Amy... Will get appointment to see dr... Hoping 30 makes me more comfortable,

Also camping last weekend probably didn't help!

Anyone else have s.I pain? Thanks

I found Amytriptaline to be totally useless as an analgesic, plus, I couldn`t drive for 12 hours out of the day due to blurred vision.

    Nasty stuff.

I am not too sure what you mean by S.L. pain, but I have been on 40mg of Amitryptaline for about 20 months now, I was also started on 10mg, 4 weeks later upped to 20mg, 4 weeks later 30mg and so on. I suffer from (what I recently found out to be) a degenerative disk in my lower spine. I have noticed that while being on Amitryptaline that there are certain things that aren't as prominant as before pain wise and that it has helped me to do certain movements especially at work. Sleep wise I am not too sure if it does help me personally as I have other meds prescribed for sleeping as and when needed.
