An Experiment with Borax

So, I've been in Vietnam now for just over a month. Haven't had any itching, but the white plaque has expanded and looked like a bit more fusing had occured. Panic set in and of course I was trying not to. However, now that we're here, my husband has been able to start doing more research to help me. And he came across some stuff about borax. So we started an experiment 6 days ago. Not using any steroids, but instead each morning and night he's applying to one side a saturated borax solution and the other side a saturated baking soda solution (as we'd read that some people found baking soda helpful). We've been taking photos in order to compare as we progress. As mentioned, we are on day 6 and there is honestly some change! My clitoris which was quite white has returned to pink. And while the whole area still has some white, the pink is really starting to move in more. The biggest changes are on the side with the borax, with some change on the side with the baking soda (but since some of the borax can get rubbed off on that baking soda side we can't say for certain that the baking soda is having a major effect). We are feeling optimistic about this and I will keep everyone posted. During the day I do continue to add vitamin E oil to keep moisturized.

Have you heard of anyone having results with the homeopathic remedy Borax which you take internally?

I take homeopathic borax. On alternate days I either use a borax spray direct on my LS after every toilet visit, or take homeopathic borax. My homeopath said I shouldn't take both on the same day.

I also took a boron supplement but it gave me diarrhoea every time so I stopped. I'd read it was good for increasing bone density post-menopause. Anyway, it didn't suit me at all.

      Hope that helps

I see a homeopath regularly and she prescribed it. She always sends me to Helios Homeopathic pharmacy. you can find it online. It's based in Tunbridge Wells (UK). I just googled Borax in the search and came across something called Madelaine's cream for eczema and other skin problems, it has Borax in it. I think I'll order some to try. The Borax solution (drops on tongue) isn't generally available.

Search online for Homeopathic pharmacy or better still, consult a homeopath who can advise on dose strength and possibly prescribe a "constitutional" remedy too.

I've been using this treatment and have actually been experiencing unfusing (yay!) but the skin looks raw/red and looks like it's trying to fuse up again. What can you put on these "fresh" areas to keep them from fusing up again? Just the borax or anything else?

I'm with Neldog, moisturize. That's the only thing I can think. What type of moisturizing are you using? Hmm, although, what about irritants, is there something that could possibly be contributing to not permitting the unfused areas to heal? Like abrasive toilet paper? Tight pants? Just trying to trigger something, an idea.

    Hi alistar

Obviously you have had loads of interest in your post and I have been using Borax with some success for some months. But fusing is still a problem. How long before you had good results with unfusing? Thanks for sharing your success with borax.

Bah, I just wrote a response and it got deleted somehow!

Anyway, as I was saying...I wish I could recall the time, but it's been 2 years since we arrived here in Vietnam, and at that time I had a 10 month old, who has of course been increasingly distracting and has somehow mastered the art of altering time. I feel like it was a couple of months, but I did not have severe fusing.

The reality is that this disease affects us all differently, and therefore this treatment understandably works slightly different for everyone. If you are having success managing your LS with it, just keep going and hopefully before you know it, your fusing will start to release too! Keep us posted!!

Hi Alistar...still using Borax sitz baths once a  week now that I am healed.  I never fused.... but constantly moisturized...only use homeopathic moisturizers... doesn't matter which one...just a good moisturizer...but I firmly believe between Borax sitz baths and moisturizing constantly helped my condition...but i know I could have a flare up anytime.  But I think I know how to keep it under control...hopefully...my Doctor was pleased to see me healed ...steroid was ok...but homeopathic creams worked just as well...but if you need a steroid then use it until your healed....Take care my friend
