An Experiment with Borax

So, I've been in Vietnam now for just over a month. Haven't had any itching, but the white plaque has expanded and looked like a bit more fusing had occured. Panic set in and of course I was trying not to. However, now that we're here, my husband has been able to start doing more research to help me. And he came across some stuff about borax. So we started an experiment 6 days ago. Not using any steroids, but instead each morning and night he's applying to one side a saturated borax solution and the other side a saturated baking soda solution (as we'd read that some people found baking soda helpful). We've been taking photos in order to compare as we progress. As mentioned, we are on day 6 and there is honestly some change! My clitoris which was quite white has returned to pink. And while the whole area still has some white, the pink is really starting to move in more. The biggest changes are on the side with the borax, with some change on the side with the baking soda (but since some of the borax can get rubbed off on that baking soda side we can't say for certain that the baking soda is having a major effect). We are feeling optimistic about this and I will keep everyone posted. During the day I do continue to add vitamin E oil to keep moisturized.

Hi ladies! I was just wondering if any of you noticed if the fusing came back after it was released from the borax? the borax helped with the unfusing but now im just wondering if any of you ladies have noticed if it has come back? Are you ladies keeping up with the borax for maintenance even though your in remission and have no flare ups? please share how your keeping the unfusing from happening and what you have been doing for maintenance. are you only using borax using flares?
thank you all 😃

Hi there!
First, so glad to hear that you've experienced unfusing. That's awesome.
It's been about 4.5 years since I first started this experiment and I'm so glad that there women taking the chance to see if it will work for them!
Personally, I spot treat with borax as needed. I haven't experienced re-fusing, but that's because if I feel like I'm getting itchy or that I'm about to have a flare, I immediately start using the borax solution. Right now I'm heading into peri-menopause, and I'm finding with my fluctuating hormones my LS is trying to get a foot-hold more "regularly" now.
But so far, I'm good 😃
I've also made a little oil treatment that I use when I'm feeling a bit sensitive: tamanu oil, vitamin E oil, curcumin essential oil & frankincese essential oi.

Thank you for replying and sharing your experience with how the borax is working for you.
May I ask what your flare up symptoms are? I know there is the itching but I often second guess if I am having a flare when i feel stinging.
Did you ever manage to unfuse the clitoris area? I remember reading that it was fairly white when you started this experiment. I have fusing whwre the hood has fused over and its white. You can see the seam of it but barely. I just wanted to know if you were ever successful in unfusing that area.
Also can you please share your mixture for the essential oils when your feeling sensitive.
Thank you for always answering my questions and I truly appreciate it. It is such a stressful, emotional, mental and physical journey. i think about it all the time and i fear everything i feel something different down there. its a daily struggle as it is constantly dry and raw feeling.

Hi everyone! How is the borax working for you all? Just wanted to check in and hoping to hear success stories of the Borax if you continued with using it during flare ups over the years.
I'm curious to hear about remission, if any changes happened over the course (getting better or worse in terms of the physical appearance) and if anyone was ever successful on unfusing the clitoris/hood area.
I had to stop using the borax on the clitoris as it was giving me pulsing/throbbing feeling and it would be very sensitive.
if any of you ladies are remission, can you please share how long you have experience remission before having another flare up.
thank you for reading this and i hope your open to share your personal experience to shine some light on this. LS has cause depression, anxiety and the feeling of anxious that i cant seem to move on from.

Sodium Borate also called Borax, can be purchased on amazon, from a brand called Prescibed for Life. I'm trying tonight for the first time and found mixing it in with warm water helps disolve the salt like borax. I took a teaspoon borax to 4 teaspoons warm water abd just wiped the area and rested while it dries. I also apply organic castor oil by Heritage during the day and night. I'lll check back on here and post what i expereinced in 2 weeks from today 6-9-21 . I plan on doing the borax treatment 2 times a day for two weeks.

I was diagnosed with LS several years ago and nothing has worked. I just found this forum and I am going to try the borax/baking soda sitz bath a try but have a couple of questions for those of you that are in remission. Is sex less painful? Does it eliminate the discharge? Do you keep some solution for bathroom breaks? Any advice on daily habits would be appreciated. I hoping this works. The itch and pain are constant. Steroid cream does not help.

I don't go to doctors so I take complete responsibility for my health. A few years ago I developed an itch in my anal region. I applied several different anti-itch remedies that only brought temporary relief. Finally it occurred to me to make a slide to view under the microscope. I found what looked like little bug type critters. So I determined that it must be a parasite and began treating it with a wormwood and black walnut tincture both topically and orally. It brought great relief. But over time it would return. The tincture is messy and dark and it messed up any undergarment I used so I began applying it to a small pad used for incontinence and attached to my underwear in the area. I found it to be very helpful.
After using this method of treatment for several years I developed something on the bottoms of my feet that burned and caused roughness on my feet. I decided that although it did not look like athletes foot that it must be something related to it so I did some searching and found that people have successfully treated athletes foot with a borax soak. So I prepared and foot bath and soaked my feet in it. I was amazed that it cleared up over nite. I sprinkled some in my shoes and also put a small amount in my socks just make sure the stuff does not return.
I went to a site that had 1000s of replies on the different ways that the members used borax. I kept seeing replies from people using it to treat LS. I had never heard of this condition so I decided to look it up and see what it is. I was shocked to see photos that looked exactly what I have on my back side. So of course I made a sitz bath. My condition has completely cleared. The wormwood and black walnut helped me so much but the red flakes never totally disappeared. After the sitz bath it completely cleared up. If it does come back I will use both the tincture and the borax. I did a lot of reading at medical sites about this condition. To me it is pretty obvious that the medical community really has no idea what LS is or how to successfully treat it. So I want to suggest to you all here that in my looking at this under a microscope it appears to be a parasite. So you might want to consider that it is a parasite and maybe even ask you doctor to look at it under a microscope. For some reason it seem that doctors do not acknowledge parasites as a health problem. In my opinion parasites are a huge problem and if you have one you may also have others. Thank you for reading this I hope it can help someone else.

Thanks for the post alistar!
I am also in vietnam and struggling to find any specialist here, do you happen to have any recommendations?
Also, I haven't tried borax yet. Were you able to get that here or did you get it shipped?
Thanks in advance!

Hey Leonie!
I've not seen any specialists here. I'm in HoiAn and go to Pasteur in DaNang and see Dr. Trang. She'd never even heard of LS, but she was very open in doing research and learning more about it. The Vietnamese word for borax is hà n the. The first time I was using it I got it from the market, in the food section (they gave it to me in rock form that I would have to bash in a mortar and pestle). I actually now own a refill shop for the past 2.5 years and it's one of the things I carry 😄 Where are you located?

Organic Castor Oil is a much better choice than coconut oil for the vagina. research castor oil.
it can be used internally and externally and just be sure it's organic and comes in brown glass bottle. I like Heritage brand/ Amazon
I just started the Borax (Sodium Borate) tonight . thank you for sharing. I've has a white skin that itches bothering me for a long time and I'm very hopeful after reading your experience

Which brand of borax did you use? So many borax products don't give the ingredients--I want to be certain that I use what is safe.

im hoping this is still an active discussion.
ive been diagnosed with LS by a gyno during a physical exam and another suggested i might have it but said she couldnt diagnose a condition like that.
i plan to get a biopsy soon to confirm but based on white skin and what appears to be fusing of the minora and majora, i think its pretty clear that i have it. all issues started about a year and a half ago starting with itching and chronic BV. i was also told recently that i tested positive for ureaplasma. the list keeps getting longer and im pretty scared at this point. my sex life is miserable. i have a wonderful relationship and my man doesnt ever make me feel bad about it. hes so patient. but for me, i want to have a normal sex life with him again without pain and suffering. theres a lot of pain...
Not wanting to take steroids or antibiotics, ive looked everywhere for alternative methods of dealing with this. Im wondering if anyone has had any really bad reactions with borax and whats the safest/most effective way to use it? also super curious for anyone who has reversed fusing, does the skin just look how it used to or is it weird/different looking?
