An Experiment with Borax

So, I've been in Vietnam now for just over a month. Haven't had any itching, but the white plaque has expanded and looked like a bit more fusing had occured. Panic set in and of course I was trying not to. However, now that we're here, my husband has been able to start doing more research to help me. And he came across some stuff about borax. So we started an experiment 6 days ago. Not using any steroids, but instead each morning and night he's applying to one side a saturated borax solution and the other side a saturated baking soda solution (as we'd read that some people found baking soda helpful). We've been taking photos in order to compare as we progress. As mentioned, we are on day 6 and there is honestly some change! My clitoris which was quite white has returned to pink. And while the whole area still has some white, the pink is really starting to move in more. The biggest changes are on the side with the borax, with some change on the side with the baking soda (but since some of the borax can get rubbed off on that baking soda side we can't say for certain that the baking soda is having a major effect). We are feeling optimistic about this and I will keep everyone posted. During the day I do continue to add vitamin E oil to keep moisturized.

its me again..... i just got a check up with my doctor and I'm back on feeling so depressed. He examined me and i have a white patch just above my urethra the first too half and he asked me to put the steroid cream directed on to that area 2/day for month.

i want to go the natural way and just when things got worse..... he asked if i was itchy but i didnt have any symptoms of being itchy in that area?

did anyone get white patches around inside near their urethra? It seems like most cases are clitoris and the sides of the vagina...

i need someone to please share if they experienced the same. can LS effect the inside areas too? i just assume its external and again new to this.

can you use a q-tip or soak the saturated borax solution and apply to this area and on top of the urethra?

anyone please share what you know. im at a all time lost and im now being referred to a new GN.

    thank you! ❤

sorry here is a better description, * the space between the clitoris and urethra has white spots and im wonderful if i can still use the saturated borax solution for that area or maybe the spray bottom suggestion someone has mentioned.

has anyone had this? what did you do to help get rid of the white area inside?

      Hi Mel

I have found that using the saturate solution which alistar has described works well for me and sometimes I get a pain in my lower groin right side and I assume this is lichen sclerosìs internally. This pain goes away if I use a saturate borax solution in a sitz bath or soak a cotton wool pad in saturated borax and leave it on the area for 20 mins or so daily. But I am on a strict diet no sugar diet which includes no alcohol. Sugar is best avoided with LS. A

Hello. try not to panick too much, I think this is very normal for LS sufferers. I have a white patch which lives on the inside edge of my labia minora. It does not go away but sometimes fades a little or can look whiter depending on how the LS is behaving. I put steroid cream on it and all the other potions I use including a borax mix that i make myself. Its like a signal that i still have LS. If it were to ever disappear then I would know my LS is improving but after four years its still there. keep applying the steroid as directed but it certainly wont hurt to use the borax as well.

Hi! For the saturated borax solution, do you use room temperature water? maybe I'm not mixing enough borax. how long dis you notice results? I was told i would be waiting 2-3 months to see a GYN.

Hi, that was my thought too that it was only external. He said theres a watch patch and that area the vestiable is suppose to be pink and mine is looks like its white-ish.

      😦

      Hi Mel,

For me when I experienced the unfusing it was a slight itching, but it didn't last long, like maybe a couple of hours. And it wasn't as intense as the LS itching. I also noticed some white...I'm not sure how to describe it, but what I believe it was, was residue or something from the fusing. Not sure that makes sense. Anyway, as JoAnn has said, everyone is different, so there is not real time frame to be able to give on when and if it will happen.

I always used warm water as it that helps with the borax to dissolve. I just put some water in a glass and then slowly added the borax, stirring until it dissolved, and then added a little bit more, stirred to dissolve and just did this until the borax stopped dissolving and some grains remained sitting on the bottom of the glass. For me, the results took I think 2-3 months...hard to believe I did this experiment 4 years ago! Anyway, I've managed my LS very well with borax.

      Good luck!

I want to say what has worked for me to you all. Sex. Blood flow in the era helps healing. massaging the skin. If you don't have a partner do something yourself like masturbate. Sex heals. Also use olive oil or find an oil that is best for you. Do not give it attention. It will go away with time. Love yourself!!

Hi alistar! thank you for your response! How has your LS been since you started this 4 years ago? I remember when I was first diagnosed I would google what this is and the pictures horrified me in so many levels. The thought of your vagina transforming and loosing its parts due to fusing and everything was way too much for me to handle. I wish I found this forum two years ago but I'm grateful I was able to now and start this journey.

Did you find that compared to 4 years ago your able to maintain the look of it? It did get worse, close up or develop scar tissue? I don't know if those images I saw on the internet is when LS is not treated or detected. My fear is that I will be at that stage and thats so terrifying. Is that someone LS suffers will be face with down the road? Again im learning from this forum more than what my doctor is telling me. Im still waiting to hear back with the new referral.

May i also ask when you drop the usage of borax as a maintenance stage? Do you moisturize after or daily? Hope all is well in Vietnam! Thank you ans hope to hear from you soon.
