My friend had the pill camera. Not sure if that is what your referring to. A small blood vessel, was leaking and causing the anemia. They surgically went in and patched the leak. These types of small blood vessels are slow leaks at first and generally cause from nsaidsthat can get stuck in the intestines and wear away the lining of small blood vessels.

All that was done the leaking was finally found with the camera pill. it is swallowed and comes out and collected. Then all the film was reviewed and a small hole in a vein was found.

good luck to you on your next appt. I hope it's nothing serious. U could ask about the camera pill.

Hi.  I was severely Anemic about a year ago.  My Hemoglobin dropped to 2.8.  I got a blood transfusion of four units in hospital ICU.  I went through the endoscopy and colonoscopy.  I also had a CT scan and Ultra Sound.  All tests came back clear.  Finally after a few weeks and approval from insurance, my Gastro doctor had me do the pill camera test.  It showed a lesion and two abnormal blood vessels. I had the abnormal vessels since birth and they just acted up 39 years later.

    Good luck! Take care!
