i dont usually login I forgot my password and reset it do i could reply . i dont think there is any guarentee you wont unfortunately but i can tell you insist on follow up for the wound to be packed dont let them tell you otherwise either if you have to pay a nurse for this daily until healed i would. that was my mistake also keep the wound clean but let it dry too i think taking too many hot baths created an issue for me im not a doctor or anything just my thoughts. good luck

Try applying neem oil.

hey fist....look as stated earlier am not a doctor - but a fistula occurs when the abcess wound (often below the skin) has no where to channel. i dont even know what neem oil is aside from googling it, but in all cases you want the abcess to drain after being popped or whatever the scientific term is . if it heals from the outside the infection will be drawn inwards and a fistula will start. before my gp was aware a fistula had started, she prescribed an anti biotic that would have made it heal on the outside, not drain, and likely make the fistula way worse . I was lucky cause it was only "superficial" so to speak. long story short again in my non scientific opinion - no lotions, no anti biotics (unless you had an underlying medical condition and the doctor said so) pack pack pack the would it heals from the inside out, so it needs to be open to channel and drain. once dried out and healed - put whatever you want on it give or take lol i hope there is a medical professional here who can back me up on this - -all of this is based on what a highly skilled nurse with an MSC told me, my own experience and the internet and i sure hope the original poster does not have to deal with fistula surgery like i did
