Anal fissure healing

Has anyone ever healed fully from a fissure and how long did it take?
What are the steps of healing? What am I supposed to notice as changes?
I have been told to try ointments and making my stool as soft as possible before any next steps.
It has been almost 6 weeks now. I have a newborn and can't even enjoy being her mum because of pain.
Only those who have had one know the pain and how it takes over your life. So depressing.

Hi sam66678. How are you doing? Any change with your situation?
I have mine for about 4 months now and I believe and hope it is on its way out...
For me, the first month was about trying out different creams, contacting GP, the fissure getting worse and being in excruciating pain. Last 3 months for me really was about managing it; no longer in pain, but it has always been there and that sense of roughness, discomfort and sometimes prickly soreness was coming and going - I didn't see much change.
For the last 3 months I have been using this cream and sitting bath called 'Tannolact' from Germany, which I believe may be similar to Sudocrem. I started to drink apple cider vinegar (with mother) diluted in water about 3 weeks ago and this is when I started to feel dramatic change. That little 'prickly soreness' that I was feeling a few/several times a day for the last 3 months was getting less and less everyday. Just be mindful about how much/how/when to take the vinegar as it can damage your teeth or stomach.
I do hope you are feeling better.
