Anal Fissure Pain after Botox

Hi

I have been reading this forum since January when my pain first began. 2 weeks ago I went to A&E (3rd time), and they agreed to EUA where they discovered a chronic anal fissure. I was treated with botox, stayed in for one more night and sent home.

The pain is exactly the same as pre botox. After BM it's horrendous for anywhere between 5-7 hours and then eases off when I'm able to move a around a little more. However sometimes the pressure builds in the evening and I go to bed in pain.

I went back to A&E yesterday as I just can't handle the pain. They offered to keep me in for pain relief and I managed to get my follow up appt with the surgeon who initially treated me with botox? brought forward to 19th Apr - its another 2 weeks but better than the 8 weeks I would have had to wait.

I don't know how long I should really give the botox to work, but ultimately I think I need surgery. My life is on hold as I'm unable to leave the house (fortunately I work from home mainly), when I'm not in horrendous pain, I am so sad at about how my life is falling apart as I am stuck indoors all the time.

Does anyone have any advice about how long the botox may take to work - even a little would be great! I have every prescription under the sun, soft BM daily and have a good diet etc, anyone found any magic creams that have really helped?

FYI my fissure is apparently quite high up so hard to get cream to it but I figure anything is better than nothing and continue with all medication I have been given over the last 3 mths.

Any advice greatly appreciated.
