So I had Botox almost 4 weeks ago
Basically this all strted in march when I had a skin tag removed - it cause my bumhole to go into spasm and resulted in a fissure
Before Botox I was in bad pain yes the pain we are all familiar with - I had a massive ball of a polyp skin tag scar tissue grow inside
My surgery involved the removal of this polyp and Botox !
The Botox took almost a week and a bit to work - my butt felt weird but by week two I had no pain passing stools just discomfort and like sore
How ever few days ago I did a firmer then usual stool in the form of a log haha I think because I had gotten over my fear to eat since then I have pain again passing stool and blood
I also feel like the Botox has worn off ? I don't know :; but I'm really depressed I emailed my surgeon today for advice but haven't heard from him yet
What I really want to hear is the experience people with fissures have especially post Botox so far I have not found someone who has healed completely and it's depressing me x

So I had my fissure around 4 weeks before I decided to go for the surgery. The doctor gave me diltazem ointment to put on which basically was supposed to stop the spasming of the sphincter muscle. I didn't notice any difference in my case and when the doctor looked at it again, he realized I had a chronic fissure and needed surgery. The recovery from the LIS surgery was not so bad considering the pain that the fissure caused me. After the surgery, I was in immmense pain, once the drugs wore off, and then felt a bit better. Going to the bathroom for the first time post surgery was the worst. It really hurt pooping, but afterwards the pain was nothing compared to that of the fissure. After that, I healed in around 2 weeks. Past the 2 weeks post surgery, the only recovery I had left was the mental recovery of learning to live without the fissure taking over my life. It has been at least 3 years since my fissure. I have never had another one and the only things I deal with occasionally are hemmroids which I manage. If you decide for the surgery, make sure to get a reputable doctor who has performed it multiple times.
Here are some suggestions I have for you to help you through:
1. Try somee zinc oxide in the form of calmoseptine which has menthol to soothe the area down there as well. Calmoseptine can be bought at almost any local drugstore and can be bought online too.
2. Try squatting when going on the toilet instead of sitting. This is a much helathier position and the poop sometimes will just slide out, no pushing or straining involved.
3. I would definately take a fiber supplement, specifically metamucil is what I take evveryday, in ordr to allow your stools to be soft and to allow them to pass thorugh easily. THis being said, with any fiber supplemetn, you must drink lots of water when using them, or they will not work veffectively. Also, do not take too much as too much fiber can irritate your bowels on the way out and diarreah actually does worse down there.
Hope this helps!!!
Best,
Myles

Thank you for your reply Myles and I'm glad you had a positive outcome ! I also really appreciate your advice ! However I'm vegan and naturally my stools are quite soft , unfortunately my fissure was not from constipation but a anal tag removal which led to a spasm which lead to the fissure my surgeon and almost all of them in Sydney don't do the LIS an instead use Botox as they belive it's the same outcome which is stoping the spasm because regardless the fissure needs to heal ! I have the Botox and it's working for the spasm but this bloody fissure is slow at healing or I feel like it looks the same it's so miserable if u don't mind me asking where was your fissure located and how deep was it because I can't seem to find any like mine mine is right on the inside of where the bum hole opens to poop and it's a long feel tear that goes all the way in if u hold it open it's like an oval

So sorry to hear that they don't do LIS there. I am pretty sure mine was located at 12 Oclock and was deep inside.

We had Botox a similar time and I'm feeling exactly the same. I've had a look with a mirror and it looks no better nor no worse. Starting to get the odd bit of pain again. Xxx
