Anal fissure treatment and skin tag removal

Posted , 3 users are following.

hey I'm not sure if any one has been through anything similar and can offer me some advice?

1 week ago I had anal fissure surgery I believe I had the botox and I also had a skin tag removed during this procedure.

For the first few days I was wasnt in so much pain however from day 6 & 7 it is painful for me when passing stool, not so much when passing more so after it has passed. I cant seem to feel the fissure anymore but I can definitly feel skin tag removal.

I'm doing 3 4 sit baths per day using the creams ect, came off co codamol due to constipation and am now using nurofen and paracetamol.

I no it's still healing and I just wondered if anyone else has been through this and can give me some advice as to anything that can make the pain lessen when I need to go toilet.

Currently on day 8 post surgery, feeling sore little itchy and almost a slight burning feeling. Is this normal??? please help xx

hello it sounds like even after the botox injections you still had constipation which is probably why you are still in pain. I was told by my consultant after the botox I am to ensure as a matter of urgency that my stools are kept soft at all times. dulcolsase tablets is what I used to keep my stools soft. I will take two of these tablets before I go to sleep and I'll find in the morning majority of the time once the first bit comes out the rest of it just flows out comfortably. therefore the key thing is always to make sure the stools are soft. I also found drinking some prune juice which I will admit it tastes absolutely disgusting but it does help relieve constipation. after my botox I would say it did make a difference to a certain extent however I will not say I am fully I would say it did make a difference to a certain extent however I will not say I am fully cured.

I am not a doctor or medically qualified however the above is what I am using in order to keep things comfortable. I will definitely say having the botox was a positive step as the burning has cut down to a certain extent. I would also avoid eating spicy things as I found last night after eating Chinese chilli oil oil I am experiencing some burning sensation even though my stools r soft

I am experiencing some burning sensation even though my stools were soft. however like I said offer the botox it is is slightly better

Hello, when I am passing the stool it actually feels ok, I am doing everything i can to keep stool soft, eating a strictly high fibre diet along with taking lactulose to help keep stools soft which most definitely helps.

I think it's more the burning feeling and the kind of throbbing pain I get after a BM. The last few days the pain was terrible afterwards lasting up to 8 - 10 hours. I'm unsure if that is because of the skin tag removal or to do with the botox. (Hoping it's the tag removal)

This morning was day 8 easier than days 5,6 & 7. I'm hoping and praying tomorrow morning is going to be just as easy as today.

Thank you so much for the advice especially regarding the spicy foods. I absolutely love spicy food but have been to frightened to attempt that at the moment due to the thought of it coming out.

I am now 4 weeks post botox and I have good days and then bad days if I am honest. the consultant mentioned to me that doing LIS surgery is a massive decision. if you do the lis surgery and you are one of the few where it goes wrong then that is it . its irreversible

I really feel your pain honestly. I have read alot of threads on here and they say 6-8 weeks in average to recover from the botox so give yourself a bit more time as you may not need this surgery.

I think as painful and agonising as it is the best thing for us to do is be patient and pray to God that it heals naturally and as pain free as possible. (that's my current plan)

Also remembering to keep that stool as soft as possible and sit in a position that is comfortable for you to make the motion happen.

are you from.uk or somewhere else as some countries tend to give LIS surgery quicker than UK

I had the same done 27-Nov last year. From my experience it was approx. 4 weeks before the external pain from the tag removal had subsided. You're doing all the right things, so hang in there!

Thank you so much. Did you find the pain consistent throughout the 4 weeks, or did it ease up as the days went on?

Tomorrow will be 9 days post op and I'm just so anxious over having a BM. Thankfully I am going everyday however I am so scared at the thought of it. The pain afterwards has eased a fair bit and I'm just hoping and praying this will continue to happen.

So today is day 9 post op, this morning was also not so bad the pain after BM didn't last as long as the day before.

Still feel uncomfortable but can move around a little more comfortably now thank god. Still proceeding to maintain a high fibre diet lactulose twice daily and 3-4 sit baths per day.

Hoping and praying and doing everything I possibly can for this recovery to be as painless and speedy as possible.

Thank you everyone for your advice and for sharing your own stories with me. It really is a great help to no your not the only one who has suffered/suffering with this issue.

So today is day 15 post op, honestly I can say the pain has really subsided and it's now no longer painful to have a BM and no pain afterwards. Still some slight discharge on occasions so am still wearing pads to be on the safe side.

Continuing to do my sitz baths and also apply my creams, I am scheduled to see my consultant in 2 days so hopefully he will be pleased with the recovery.

So thankful for this forum, really helped alot which is why I'm sharing my story who knows how my experience can help someone else.
