Anal / Rectal discomfort and Rectal pressure and No bleeding

Hi guys,
I am 26 years old i'm having some kind of discomfort from about good 6 weeks. I have not seen any bleeding in my stool yet. I went to see a primary physician and see asked me to lay down and stretch my knees to see if i had hemorrhoids. The doctor said that you don't have hemorrhoids. She didn't even touch the area properly by touching the hands. My question is can a doctor see internal hemorrhoids with a naked eye??
Then i scheduled an appointment with a Gastroenterology specialist and i told her my condition and she said you have hemorrhoids. She just touched my stomach, but she didn't look at my rectal area. Now i have Sigmoidoscopy exam in about a week. The specialist said that you have hemorrhoids but she just wants to confirm through the exam and that's it. However, i have increased fiber in my diet and now i'm not feeling that much pressure and pain.
I am just curious and wants to know that if the internal hemorrhoids are deep inside then how a primary physician can make a decision by just looking at it with naked eyes?
Any help on this would be highly appreciated.
-Thanks

Hi
Usually the pressure you're describing is reflective of haemorrhoid (usually internal) issues.
If they're not causing you pain then no need to really do anything abt them
Do what you're doing ie increasing fibre and water intake. That's the best Remedy
As for visualisation of internal rhoids my thoughts are they're only visible thru a scope. Either a colonoscopy or proctoscopy. They're not visible by the naked eye unless they're prolapsing out of the area
Do you also feel fullness after going to the toilet? Like there's still stuff left to come out?

Thanks for responding. Normally, I don’t believe that. I think after a bowel movement I feel like I’m done with the poop, but I just feel that something is still there. I won’t say stool. But yes, I still feel some kind of fullness, but not in the terms that I need to poop again. Probably once or twice I may have experienced that, but I don’t remember now. I think in the beginning I may have experienced that like 6 weeks ago, but not anymore. I guess!
Any additional suggestions would be useful
-Thanks is advance.

That's a good sign then. The feeling of something there tells me you may have internal haemorrhoids.
If you continue your fibre rich diet they will resolve. I wouldn't worry abt them
It sounds like they're resolving on their own which is great

Yeah, after the BM, it feels like there is still something stuck in the rectum. It doesn’t feel more like a poop, but it feels like some kind of mass. It’s feels more like some kind of irritation or pressure in the rectal area. And when I sit constantly more than an hour or so on a couch or a chair, I feel very dull pain in the rectal area.
I am trying my best to drink a lot of fluid and take as much fiber I can, so it be taken care of ASAP.
Thanks in advance

That feeling is called " tenesmus". Usually caused by some sort of anal issues like fissures or rhoids. It does take a while to settle.

Thanks for your prompt replies. I really appreciate that you are sharing your experience with others. I don’t know whether you are a doctor or someone who experienced all these conditions, but you know the stuff and I really appreciate that. Thanks for advising and the help. Be blessed

I'm a nurse 🙂But more importantly I've recently had a haemorrhoidectomy post birth and have recently come to know all too well what a terrible time it is when the backside plays up
I get the same pressure etc you are describing and can relate to your feelings. With time tho it seems to be settling
It's worth just giving it time to see if your symptoms are relieved by a high fibre diet and not rushing to a sigmoidscope. However if any worse than please get it done. It's better treated early than later 🙂🙂🙂

I am experiencing the same symptoms at the moment (no bleeding but a feeling of fullness / pressure in rectum).
Did your symptoms go away eventually?
