Anal skin tag removal/recovery FULL EXPERIENCE

I had a lot of questions before my anal skin tag removal , and saw people here had the same qs, so I wanted to share my experience.
I'll try to keep this short. Basically, I saw two doctors - both said it was a skin tag but one wanted to stitch the area and the other wanted to cauterize only.
I went with cauterizing. The doc said stitching took longer to heal, had a greater chance of scarring/bumps and coming back as well. His method was cutting and cauterizing, but leaving it to heal open. The procedure took about 45 mins, the worst part was the shot but it was quick. Then he sent me home with two extra strength Tylenol.
Pro tip: I iced the area with frozen peas, but then read about using frozen hot dogs, which makes sense- since your ass is basically a bun anyway. Wrap the dogs in saran wrap first, obvi.
First week was bad, I was eating soft foods and resting a lot. I didn't look at the area at all, but when I looked the second week my heart sank. The tag looked even bigger than before! But I stopped looking and waited another week and it totally went down. It's been a month now and it is completely gone. No scars, no lumps, nothing! There is still sometimes blood when I go, but its becoming less frequent.
So my advice is please be patient, don't irritate the area by looking too much and go with cauterizing and not dissolvable stitches if you can!
Hope this helps.
