Anal skin tag removal recovery process, what is normal?

I got a skin tag on my anus cut off 5 days ago, my doctor used local anesthetic and excised it and left the wound open because she believed the healing has better results without stitches. Anyways the last few days have been uncomfortable as expected, but my doctor provided NO aftercare instructions or what to expect so im a little panicky here. do i keep gauze on the anus at all times? it bleeds just a tiny bit now and leaks a little bit. But i looked at it for the first time today and i am super scared. the wound isnt bad but it looks like a giant skin tag or like bubble i dont know, im assuming/hoping this is swelling and will go down. if so does anyone know how long? i am super upset and need some guidance as my doctor didnt provide any, she was very rushy and acted as if it was no big deal of a procedure but still wish i had some guidance, anyone know if this is normal and will go down and look normal eventually? 😦
