Anal sore

i have confirmed LS from biopsy vulval symptoms that have been well controlled by steroid treatment and i was doing really well recently.

i have had an itchy/sore bum for about a week and can feel a vulval flare up too, got my husband to look at it (true love lol) and he said there is a small sore looking area right above my anus where the skin looks broken. do you think this is LS? should i just put steroid cream there too or should I put something like sudocrem on to try and heal it? i feel like it is LS related because i have needed to apply my steroid cream to my vulva last few days as i can feel it becoming uncomfortable- i havnt been using the steroid cream for a while as i had been synptom free 😦

i really dont want to get my bum hole out in the doctors unless i have to

i am sorry to say that it will be the LS .

use the steroid cream for a few days then move down to the likes of sudocreme if that is what you use.. it will help.

i am in the same position as yourself except i don't really have flare ups i have this continuously.

i am usually cut from the top of my labia to the very back of my anus.

the itch is something else ! it drives you crazy.

i hope you get your symptoms under control soon x

oh gosh pamela, that sounds so awful and painful!

i dont usually have splits or cuts, my usual symptoms are burning and itching vulva so this sore anally is a new things and just when i really thought I had got this LS thing figured out!!

i guess i just wanted to know if the steroid will heal this sore if i need to use something else on it? what do you put on your splits?

i use my medication that i am using at the time. usually SYNALAR. cream. my body adapts to thecreams so quickly that i have about 5 that i rotate along side the moisturisers etc. steroid creams will heal the cracks and fissures but like all steroids should be used sparingly. use it for a few days then change to what ever other creams like sudocreme you are using.

      WORKS WELL FOR ME?

Hi...I'm new here...just got my biopsy results last week...but no surprise, after I had read a bunch of these posts, I knew what I had. Fortunately, I seem to have a pretty easy go of it so far.

One thing I have noticed, wrt the sugar thing. A few weeks back I got a really nasty GI bug...really bad nausea...no food at all for 2 days. I noticed that during this time, all symptoms just vanished.

Then I also realize that because I am seriously trying to get a little weight off, I do the "mini-fast" thing. I eat dinner, then wait at least 14 hours, but more often 16 hours before I eat breakfast/lunch. Seems like this, too, seems to help...especially if I've succumbed to sugar during the day...sort of like a mini ketosis kind of thing. Have any of you tried that?

I have LS at the very top of my bum. It is raw so I put Vaseline on it everyday.

Often I can have a flare up just there and not the rest of my genitals.

Don’t get me wrong I also flare up with my genitals but it is often my asshole (sorry don’t know another word for that).

And my husband God bless him has to look for me as well.

sounds like LS to me. I also have anal area problems. Usually Emuaid Max works well, but sometimes Cortizone10 ointment is necessary. That will help with the itching too. sitting on a cool pac works wonders for immediate relief also.

oh i am starting to see that. i was diagnosed last october and although i understand there is no cure, after the initial treatment i have been coping well so its really disheartening to have new symptoms. i need to go back for a check up with my consultant, she specialises in vulval dermatology- i hope you get some answers xxx

Hi Emmy, What was the course of treatment your dermatologist suggested?

I've had LS for about 12 years and was in remission for about 3 years or so, just annoying itching, then it got out of control. It is disheartening to know that there is no cure, just management, and even then, there will be flareups. At this point I am looking for different, more consistent management. I've been using Clobestol for out of control flareups and a variety of creams and lotions that have been recommended here. I work it everyday. Hugs to you.

so my treatment was 1 month of clob eberyday, 1 month of clob every other day , 1 month of clob once a week. and then clob to control any subsequent flare ups. she also recommended i use cetraben cream to wash with and use as a moisturiser

thats what i do currently, i have applied clob today front and back

i am just looking into diet and supplements because i am overweight and a bit of a sugar addict which i read doesnt help

Thanks Emmy. I'll check out Cetraben cream. I have not heard of that. I even tried cannabis with coconut oil. Didn't help. Diet and supplements couldn't hurt.

      Good luck to you. HUgs.

i love that phrase, i work it every day. that is LS in a nutshell !,

i am about 14 yrs or so down the line. to be honest it feels so long i cant remember not having it now!

cetraben cream is my life saver. that and synalar? cream. these are the the two constants that my body tolerates . the cetraben is the best moisturiser, and protection cream i have used. my specialist is phenomenal. he never down plays the symptoms or the state you can find yourself in . i can be mildly uncomfortable in the morning and in full flare up two hours later. i think the relief you feel when you get a physician who actually takes your condition seriously and that this is not just a " feminine itch problem " !!!

      this condition ruins lives.
