Anal sphincterotomy

Hi, I had my surgery yesterday , a "partial, lateral, internal sphincterotomy".

Has anyone else had this? Am interested in recovery time/tips.

Apologies for the TMI, i had the op around 24 hours ago and am experiencing some mucus and blood, so am wearing a pad. I think this is because I had a BM shortly after the surgery which removed the gel dressing. Ideally I wouldn't have opened my bowels so soon to give it some initial healing time.

I doing everything by the book; taking all my meds (managing on just paracetamol and ibuprofen as I know the tramadol will bung me up), eating loads of fibre etc.

Any thoughts or tips gratefully received!
