and another blow...

Computer crashed yesterday and lost all my files, the CFS info I'd gathered, my personal documents and all my holiday photos. Gutted. It's all so tiring to try and sort. Start my phased return back to work tomorrow, running on empty before I start. sad

Hi Maz, sorry to hear that.

There is probably a way of recovering the data. You need to talk to a local  IT  specialist. Sometimes they advertise in local newspapers, some even advertise " no success no fee" Its worth a try but wait until you have settled down back at work.

    Good Luck

Yes, why not hire a computer nerd and let them deal with it.

Ok so my "computer nerd" got back to me and has never seen anything like it. Odd bits saved but most including photos gone.

    Hi Paz,

I had this problem and I took it into a computer shop near here that repairs computers. Although the unit was unfixable, they saved everything available to a cd disc. Not sure whether your computerguy has seen your machine or not? Also my daughters laptop failed and was told it would cost alot to repair but, again local shop said what she was quoted was ridiculous. If your husband has more energy, get him to ring around places tomorrow to see what is available locally.

Thanks for responses. Guy I have used to build computers and probably knows more than the basic shop. He has specialist equipment on his phone that links to his computer...don't ask. Anyway I lost all the evidence I had to fight for my job so who knows what will happen now! XP

You will somehow be able to put the information back together because it is what you have to do.  It is amazing how strong you can be when you have no choice.

Well it didn't go too badly yesterday - although I have got 2 of the heaviest subjects marking wise, but Manager seems supportive so far ..ish.

Luckily nothing has gone wrong today so far, so fingers crossed my run of bad luck is over!!!

Glad to hear that, just don't overdo things. My X is a teacher, and  I know that it is very stressful and demanding job even when you are 100% well.

I know, I don't know how I did it for so long, full time seems almost impossible at the moment but I'll have to see how I go over the phased return.

      Hi paz,

Glad it seems to be going ok and you feel you're getting some support from manager.

      Take it easy

      Best wishes
