This really helps me. I find it much better than the patches. Don't know if it available in the UK,

    hi am feeling really terrible. I got the pain again on Frid which is just above my left ear. I use Axsain capsaicin 0.075% It has to go on through my hair. I also put across forehead and use a tens machine. Pain has gone but it just throbs and is very hot,my eyes hurt. My head feels really peculiar and sleep is difficult.. Dont know if i can get this cream but is it better. Do also have some lidocaine patches but again a problem and have to put on skin near ear but it does not seem to help. A few weeks ago had a strong chilli pepper patch put on but have not felt a difference except the crawliness was slightly better. I am so exhausted which does not help. Have been on amytriptilene and other ones like this as well as anti epileptic drugs but i suffer from pretty awful side effects so stopped them.What do you take and do they work? What about the sleep side? Thanks for replying to me as life is at a standstill,cant do the the things i would like to do. So upset. Had to pay for an adrenal test as nhs dont do. Waiting on results,hopefully tomorrow. A private says i was low adrenals,low thyroid now.

    I take amytriptilene without side effects, so I'm lucky there. I also take Zolpidem 10mg for sleep, Gabapentin 300mg every 3 hours for pain, Lorazepam 1.5 mg bedtime which helps the twitchynes and hydrocortisone 5mg am 5mg pm for my adrenal insufficiency. I'd try the garbapenten, if I were you. I've never used capsaicin, since I find the lidocaine to work pretty well. My phn is behind my right ear and goes down the nerve to my shoulder. I canot turn my head at all and cannot drive. Liberal application of the lidocain along with the Garbapenten works during day but not enough to allow me to turn my head and the addition of zolpidem and lorazepam knocks me out for sleep. I have had this for 1 1/2 years so I just suck it up.

    I am using Zoster Cream on lip.It has chill paper also.After you apply it burns the skin. It gives relief for few hours.I also use Dental Gel on my tongue. It is not a cure but helps for few hours.

    I also take Gebapantin 300 mg three times a day.

    It is not solving the proble.I have continuous burning pain.
