Ankle arthritis.

Posted , 2 users are following.

Because of arthritis, I had a fusion of my Talonavicular joint 5 months ago, and am still in pain on every step I take and wish I had not had it done.

My surgeon now thinks I need an ankle replacement. I am 65 and fearful of further surgery. I would greatly appreciate feedback if anyone out there has had an ankle replacement , and how they are

now?

    Hi Penny,

I'm sure your surgeon told you that it takes a very long time for healing. Especially a fusion. I had a big toe fusion and I still feel uncomfortable and its been a couple years.

    I wish you luck!
