Ankle Arthroscopy / Debridement Recovery

Hello everyone!

I am 7 weeks post surgery (ankle arthroscopy and debridement) to clear out my ankle of scar tissue and to fix a couple of bone spurs.

I am asking for help as despite most of the swelling going, I am still swollen and sore in the same place I had the issue before my surgery. My ankle mobility etc has still not changed despite starting rehab and any movement past walking is still sore and near impossible.

Is this normal? Am I on track or should I have seen better improvement after 7 weeks? Anyone been through the same thing?

Thanks in advance all!

ALL very normal. It takes a lot of time to heal completely ! No matter what anyone says, go at your own pace and you'll get there! Seven weeks is very soon for that type of surgery.

    Good luck!

Thank you very much for the reply! And also for the encouraging words, it can be hard especially during this kind of lockdown we are in and not working; most of my day is spent staring at my ankle!! So thank you again for the reply!
