Ankle fracture and toes going numb

Posted , 2 users are following.

Hello,

3 years ago i fell on my stairs and fractured my ankle, i did not have surgery but was in a air cast for almost 2 months because they did not catch the fracture right away. I know now that i have a few pieces of bone broken off but my question is, should I be getting numb toes now even after it being 3 years?

Not sure why your toes would still be numb

Generally the numbness is a result of the surgery. nerve endings need to communicate once again

Im 5 months post op and still have numbness some days

    maybe have it checked

I may do that, I was supposed to see a surgeon but I never heard from them so I just went on thinking it was not serious. I am just worried that the nerves are getting pinched when I stand or move my ankle a certain way.

Its possible that you could have some nerve damage

A visit to an ortho will help determine that

They will xray and can probably give you a reason for the numbness
