A little about me. I had a trimalleolar fracture 2/14/2019. Months of pain and discomfort, going for pt which is a must, started back to gym/spin Jan. 2020. I always knew that I would have metal removed. Had that done on 3/02/2020. On 3/10/2020 had surgical staples removed and life is good. I was in a boot and started pt. I already know this was an excellent move and I'm happy I did not wait to have the plate and screws removed. My bone has healed perfectly as seen in x-rays at the doctor's office.

I broke my foot in two places eight years ago. I was in a cast for three months. When the cast was removed I resumed my life as it was. Fast forward to 2/14/2019 walking my dog I slipped on black ice and landed in the hospital with a trimalleolar fracture. I believe that because of my earlier injury this just was something that was inevitable. Sometimes it takes just a little twist or turn and a you can cause damage. This happened a few weeks ago to my other ankle when I was getting up from the couch. I've been nursing it and so far I'm doing okay. Don't be too hard on yourself. You will get better. Good Luck!
