Ankle fusion

I'm due to have an ankle fusion this year in my right ankle however wanting to learn how to drive too. I know left foot fusion you can drive an automatic just wondering if its possible to drive with a right foot fusion? thanks

Physically I think you'll be in too much pain to push down the throttle with your newly fused right foot. Quite aside from that you must consider that your insurance will be void to drive the car after such an operation that adversely affects your driving abilities.
My advice is to give up on that idea until you're completely healed.

HI i had a Triple Arthrodesis with my achilles lengthened as well and i was back driving a manual car in 14 weeks . No problems at all just small journeys to start with .Hope this helps . Wishing you all the best with your operation x

Hi! I had subtalar fusion on my right ankle at 33 years old. I was back driving a manual transmission about a year later. Good luck!
