Ankle fusion

Posted , 3 users are following.

I am contemplating ankle fusion after a very active athletic life up to about 9 months ago. Pain hass gotten real bad and had to give up sports. Now have a very active and painful limp.

One concern is how I will walk after after the surgery. In a year.

13 weeks post op I have a limp. Have been told it will be unnoticeable when fully recovered. My foot was turned out, now straight. I don't regret the decision, even though I have nerve damage.

Just to be clear...you had ankle fusion 13 weeks ago. You are walking but have a little limp but the foot turns out but that it is expected to come straight out. My question is why does it turn out and why will it straighten out. Has the Dr said, this common or no comment. I am still deliberating on having the fusion surgery.

      Thanks

No, it was turned out. It can't turn out now. I'm much straighter. Once fused you weight bare different. I am feeling it in my shin bone!
