Ankle fusion

I have read several comments from people in their 50's and 60's expressing concern about bones fusing because of their age. I had the fusion 10/29/19 and will let you know how I do. I've been a smoker and had a low vit d count. Smokers are on a high list for problems with bones fusing and throw my age in the mix. Yet I am very positive about my out come. I have learned a great deal from all of you and very grateful for this forum. See the Dr. next week. Hoping the ankle is fusing and I can go into a non weight bearing boot. Huge cast the 1st two weeks. slightly smaller cast for 4 weeks. Does anyone regret having the ankle fusion? Healing thoughts to everyone
