Ankle fusion - Now in boot but still Nerve problems after 3months. Is it failing?

Posted , 1 user is following.

I had ankle fusion 3 months ago which included a metal plate and 9 screws. Plus autograft from my knee. In cast for 3 months but now in aircast boot.

AT my last hospital visit I was told the fusion was 'good' about 80-90% and to be full weight bearing in the boot.

That was 1 week ago. Now my ankle is 'buzzing' and 'jangling' itching and driving me mad. When I wiggle my toes or foot he sole buzzes! Its usually OK in the morning but gets worse during the day.

Top of foot and small toes are totally without feeling.

Anyone else had this? Is it a sign things are going wrong? Is it due to coming out of the cast? Will it settle down?

Driving me mad! -Any ideas please....

Thanks

Keith
