Ankle injury

hello, so i am 17 years old an athlete (soccer player) so 5 months ago i got tackled and i spraind my ankle really bad i went to the doctors straight away when it happened and the doctors told me i have torned my ligament fully, so i went to physio for 5 sessions and they told me it is a grade 1 ankle injury and that i will be good by the end of this month and this month but 5 months had been passed still not recovered to run or jogg im really concerned becouse soccer is my career and im really upset everyday that i cant play someone please help me and tell me what to do

Well, if I were your mother it would be time to take you for another MRI or CT scan and a second opinion. However, the injury you sustained can hurt a very long time. I had ankle surgery because I broke mine, dislocated it, and tore ligaments. That was April of 2018, and I still have some pain. A friend of mine had a sprain and for months and months her ankle would swell and was tender, we are talking 6+ months. Given your age, I think you have very little to worry about, because healing truly is much easier in young people. If it were me, I would find a second opinion now just to confirm what doctor number one said is correct. I played soccer a long time, I’m sure you are dying to get out there. By the way icing it 20 mins on then 20 mins off as much as you can really helps. Try not to worry, you have the gift of youth on your side, you will heal and play.
