I wish I could help you, but your injury is very different than mine, also its not very clear what your diagnosis or treatment was.

What advice about timeframes and next steps has your surgeon given you? Are you being seen by a physiotherapist who specializes in athletes? In my past experience with a different injury (a torn hamstring) that is the key to returning to sports (assuming you have been cleared to do so by your doctor). You need to see someone who specializes in helping people to achieve their athletic goals, not simply someone who wants to return you to normal (i.e. non-athletic) functionality. I've got my own appointment already set for 25 hours after my next ortho doc appointment at the fracture clinic (where I expect to be cleared for weaning from the boot and physio to re-build my ankle strength). I'm going to use the same athletic sports physio clinic that my daughter attends as I know they do very good work with athletes of all types (from the serious competitive athletes to the weekend warrior type like me wink ).

    Hi Vamshi.

These injuries certainly change our lives.

I broke my ankle 3 months ago; 8 weeks of that time I was in a cast.

I have had numerous physiotherapist's appointments and he certainly is thorough.

I am due for an X-ray on October 31st and hope for a good results , so I am cautiously optimistic.

I am nervous though. I have tried to keep patient, but, my predicament seems to be ongoing. I am feeling different pains so this makes me somewhat nervous too.

I am thankful for this forum as I don't feel so alone reading about other people's experiences.

And I am anxious to start walking again!!! Hopefully you will get better soon  Vamshi!
