Ankle orif after 1 year

Hello to whoever is reading this.

Tw: this is a positive post and by no mean I would want to offend or hurt anyone who is in pain.

Broke my ankle last year. Weber b and c in my case. Had an orif surgery done after 17 days from the break. I was so worried that my life is over but now I can tell you. It feels like nothing!

The plate , is still in my ankle and it doesn’t bother me. I live in a warm climate. If the the weather changes, I can feel something funny in my ankle but nothing that will stop me from living or requires pain killers.

I can walk for miles and leg is fine , I can run and it is still fine. I can jump and it is fine.

Did pt for 3 months and now I make sure that my leg stays strong coz it does help a lot.

If I over work my ankle , I will end up with a bit of a limp but that is so rare and I am very active.

Scar tissue is fine and loose. Thanks to massaging it. Don’t over do it tho coz rubbing that plate too much not good.

I had a numb toe for a while. Took about 9 months to get any sensation back to it. But now it is pretty normal.

My surgeon told me , don’t over test your ankle in the beginning and you will be fine.

This is my advice to you as well.

Pain after surgery is bad it is manageable and it should be gone by the third day or fourth.

Have a lot of patience and do your damn PT sessions and you should be fine ❤️
