Ankle pain

I was having ankle fracture 9 months before.. With time, the pain also went away.

Now I started dancing and again I am feeling a lot of pain in my whole foot.

Whenever I am moving my foot, its paining a lot.

Is there anything serious?

Or I should stop dancing for few months.

    Dear Sanchi,

Sorry to hear about your relapse to ankle trouble after starting dancing again.

This is likely indicative that your earlier ankle injury didn't heal properly and the soft tissue (the squishy bits in your ankle, not the hard bits aka bones) are not yet able to support a vigorous activity like dancing. Depending on your dance style and tempo dancing presents a challenge to even healthy ankles.

If pain does not go away you should see a foot professional. Obviously it is not broken again so you don't need to see an orthopedist (they specialize in bones). I suggest a specialist in foot issues like a podiatrist. If necessary they can do an MRI or diagnostic ultrasound on your ankle to try to detect any abnormalities in ligaments or tendons.

I sincerely hope you take this very seriously and don't shrug it off hoping the pain will pass eventually.

It will be wonderful to have you back on that dance floor again doing what you love.
