    Hi Denise,

yes, I remember the clicking well.  Mine is gone now....I will be 2years post op next month.

I know now the giving way feeling also....it was not an implant issue for me, rather a muscle issue.  Took close to a year for my muscles to feel normal again.  Had to stay on the strengthening exercises.    Not sure if I had pain in side of ankle, but do remember having strange pains in different areas for quite some time.  Just stay with it....it really will get better in time!

    Good luck,

    Pam

Tightness/clicking can last 12-18 months.  Normal.  Ankle pain can also be very normal since we all change the way we walk to avoid pain.  Some of us get a case of sciatica...others get a variety of aches and pains.  The reason is that your quads, glutes and core are all atrophied so your knee and other muscles are asked to take that pressure.  Rebuild that strength and everything else should resolve.

Yes I had op 9th sept and I also have new ankle pain in last few weeks. Physio says it’s maybe because I was walking badly before the op and ankle is getting used to new way of walking. In Pilates class last night we put our toes in a band and held taught with hands then flexed and circled the foot. It helped I think.

I have had knee feeling like it will give but it never does.  I am 6 weeks post off TKR.  I think it is because the muscles are not built up enough.  The clicking will be there for awhile and will adjust as you heal.  It sounds like the pain in your ankle, because of the way your lifting your toes is a tendon pain.  You might have a knot in them.  I would get a hand held massage and massage your legs on the out and inside; and stretch, stretch, and stretch.  The stretching should be a life long effort, in the morning and night.  Find a few that are good for you with google.  I would avoid the knee except for rubbing it for circulation.
