Ankle stiffness after ankle surgery.

I had surgery on April 1st, - and was put into a cast for 2 weeks, then i was given a boot until i could start wb which would be 6 weeks post surgery. when i was given the boot i was told to start moving my ankle around so i did and now i dont really have any pain when i move it around, but it seems when i move it a certain position (so say im standing and im bendind down) that certain position of my ankle, it feels very stiff, i was wondering if thats happened to anyone before and how long does it take to go away? ALSO what kind of pain is normal when walking again?
