Ankle surgery Weber b

hello to whomever is reading this

if you are reading this you most likely broke an ankle or a foot bone.

i broke mine and had to have surgery to fix it. i really felt sorry for myself and that i am going to miss summer over this.

i too read and googled everything about this surgery and my head only focused on the bad, that is why i want to write my case. you guys it is not THAT bad.

i had to go under surgery to instal a plate and some screws. i went knowing that the pain will be sooooo bad but tbh it is under control. I did general Anastasia and it was like a dream. I did wake up feeling pain but it wasn’t horrible. They gave me medication immediately. After that the pain was at 8 out of 10 but it does get better.

I had to walk to the bathroom three times and every time I was getting better.

My leg felt heavy and one of my toe was numb but it will get better.

I am 12 hours post op and I do feel great. Pain level is at 3. Just remember you guys that bones don’t have nerves and the pain is from the wound and the pressure. But it is not a nerve pain if you know what I mean.

I am writing this to those who are stressed and worried. It is NOT that bad.

And like my cousin said just sit there and chill and let them do the work.

    Hello Salmoab,

While I can understand what you are trying to do here, give people hope. Please remember that not everyone is in the exact same situation as you.

We didn't all have the same type of break.

We didn't all have the same surgery or the same surgeon.

We don't all have the exact same pain tolerance.

We do not all react the same to the same medication.

Some of us do have nerve damage from either the break or the surgery.

Not all of us are weight bearing post op. In fact many are non weight bearing for weeks or even months.

And most importantly, not everyone is going to take your words as encouragement. It almost comes across as condescending of those voicing complaints.

I'm glad that your recovery is going well and hope it continues to be that way.

      hello dear,

i DO want to encourage those who are still in the start . i am sorry if my words bothered you and i know everyone recovers in a differant way. i simply wrote what i needed to read before surgery and that things will be okay. saying that does not diminish people's pain. and i hope you and everyone a speedy recovery. much love and peace.
