ankle swelling

Hi everyone,

a few days ago i posted that my operated side ankle was swelling up, since then I have seen my gp, and the sonsultant at my pre opp, they both said nothing to worry about, all my tests came back normal I think or I would have heard by now, but I still wonder why this is happeneing, it looks like a kankle lol, I hate tthings that nobody can explain, I've never had this before even when pregnant, so I'm at a loss to see why now, some days it looks almost normal , and other like now it's puffy, I think maybe it's because I've been out today, but if this is going to happen everytime I go out and walk on it, how do I ever get to wear a skirt again lol

Good morning Lynne --- How are you this morning?  Scary, right? like an alien leg or something - I had the same swollen ankle quite a while after the rest of my operated leg was back to "normal" and was told that it was normal ... as long as I didn't have a fever or was in pain becasue of it --- of course you can wear a  skirt again, probably even now ... who cares ?????  elevate your leg as much as possible when resting ... you are doing fine - take care and be kind to your self - warm hug

    Morning Lynne

A frozen bag of peas can be your best friend when you have swollen ankles. Wrap it in a T towel and apply to area and leave it there for 5 - 10 mins.

Yes I too hate it when you ask a question and you do not get told anything.

I make sure after everything is done and I am healed I ask to see my medicle records at the hospital. That way I can keep up with what ever has been done to me.

At least your results are ok. elevate and ice like the others have said would seem to be a good idea.

Are you walking differently because of your bad hip?

afternoon guys, thanks for all your replies, I am limping atm. and using a crutch as my other hip is so painful, hopefully when it's done I will be better, faster, the worlds first bionic hip lady lol, but my operated hip is just fine, I doget a twinge in the bum area sometimes , but I think it'sn because I'm favouring it to ease the pain in the other one, anyway hope all of you are enjoying the sunshine,

    Lynne.
