Ankle talus fracture

Does one lined non-displaced talus body fracture heal with immobilization in a cast about 10-12 weeks??? my doctor ordered me this he said I don't need surgery. plz help

    It probably should in that time. Did he order non-weight bearing? My doctor did not and mine didn’t totally heal, now have to have surgery in a few weeks

      Why do you need to have surgery? Is your talus fracture non displaced?

      It is about 1mm displaced, usually could be non-operative, but hadn’t fully healed at 3 months, so he will reduce the fragment into the exact location and then fix it in place (screw).

    I think the fact it's still aligned correctly (non displaced) means he doesn't want to do anything invasive unless necessary. If you Keep it immobile it should do well, hopefully. If you're not comfortable, ask him to explain in detail the healing process to you. Get another opinion if you're not comfy with that.
