Ankle tenderness

Hello.

a month ago i bought some arch supports as the soles of my shoes suggested that i walked on the outside of my feet.

As a result of this i now have tenderness on the inside of my ankle.

i really only noticed stiffness in the ankle and along the bottom of my foot when i first get moving.

however when i run my finger along the inside of my foot just below my ankle it feels very bruised.

This is worse when first getting up in the morning but when i do a short amount of walking it does not hurt too much. Massaging the area does get rid of the tenderness for a bit but then it comes back.

I injured the same ankle about 4 years ago but have had no problems with it since apart from excessive clicking. i have recently lost two stone and my foot problems started every since i began intensively exercising. I have had Covid this week and I therefore have rested it and put a bandage on it. This helps with the walking but the tenderness is still there. there is pain in my ankle when i walk.

is this just a bruised ankle or tarsal tunnel syndrome?
