My husband is going through this as well. He's a little over 4 months into recovery. He is walking with a cane some, but for the most part is able to walk unassisted. He also takes miralax and it's helpful. He was told at least a year for recovery. The saddle anesthesia is the worst part. He's depressed over the whole situation but we're trying to keep him thinking positive.

Hello Annamarie, I have had it 4 years. Has your walking recovered now? What level was the problem in your spine?

    Hi Annamarie,

My father is going through the same problem, he was told that the incontinence problem is not the incontinence itself but an overflow problem since the bladder cannot be completely emptied. He was prescribed tamsulosin to help to relax the bladder neck and void, however he has to change diapers every 2-3 hours 24/7.
