Another flare-up

I saw a specialist who deals with vulva issues a month ago. She "thinks" it may be LINCHEN SCLEROSUS . However, she did not rule out vulvodynia. She prescribed CLOBETASOL, a steroid ointment to be used twice a day for a month and once a day for 2 weeks. I see her again on 12/13. She also prescribed lidocaine if needed. i have not used the lidocaine but i think i have to use it since the burning and soreness is terrible.

Has anyone had success with lidocaine helping with these symptoms? I hesitated to use it since i have so many drug allergies.

I also wonder if these flare ups are cyclical. I do well for around a month and then the symptoms resume.

Thanks for any help you can share with me.

I dont know how old you are but have low oestrogen levels been ruled out? For example if you are post menopause.

      Hi Marina,

I AM USING AN ESTROGEN CREAM TWICE A WEEK. I SEE THE SPECIALIST ON THURSDAY AND WILL ASK IF MY HORMONE LEVELS CAN BE CHECKED. I AM 66.

If you are 66 and already using an oestrogen cream then there is probably no point in checking them. I have left a message for you.
