Has anyone experienced cramp either in their hamstring or calf of their operated leg? I was just wondering how you would relieve it as normally yoiu would bend right over & grab & pull your toes forward but this would obviously brewak the 90deg rule.

    Hi Fernlady

I have this problem and what you do is put your leg behind you. Push your leg out sliding your toes along the floor much like an athlete would do to streacher out the muscles to warm up sort of like a lunge but holding onto something solid bi asked my physio's about it and they told me it is ok just to streach it out. I have never had an issue doing so.

That sounds like something I have done in the past, but I am afraid to push my hip joint forward as would happen in that move.  But yes, a counter stretch works wonders too.

I don't mean to push back too far just enough to help with the cramp. You are right pushing too far forward with the hip might be risky what I mean is the leg with the cramp goes back behind you. cheesygrin

Someone told me that if you have cramps in your legs ( Charlie horses ) to drink like 4 ounces tonic water ... The tonic water has quinine which stops cramps ...
