That's great to hear. My op is tomorrow morning. How cautious did you feel in the recovery?

Good 😊 luck . Remember how brave you are to go thru THR. 👍

Recovery keeps you so busy learning all the dos and donts You are lucky to get any sleep. In the hospital the next day they have you up and walking climbing stairs and sitting down all learning all the precautions from the physios before you go home, all with a walker of course.

I have a blinged out walker. While in recovery the second THR I glued ringtones of every color on mine! No one dares to take it. 😊

Keep posting let let us know how your doing.

Many heeling thoughts and blessing sent sent your Way!

      Hopexxxx

I have had a similar experience 3+ weeks post-op (12/14 will be one month). Can walk unaided with no limp and up and down stairs but choose to use a cane just because I was told "less is more" early after surgery.

Just dealing with a hematoma that is just about gone with icing and compression every day. Can sleep comfortably on the surgery side.

Mine was an out-patient surgery and they had me walking before I left.

For me the anterior approach was the way to go...!

this is such incredible feedback....I'm praying my recovery will go ok, because I have BI-LATERAL hip degernation...and BOTH my hips are bone on bone real bad.  I'm not sure if I'll get the anterior approach but I do know they will only do one a time...so when I am in recovery, I will still have a bad hip.  But I had to surrender to the horrible pain and stiffness and start gathering courage....this forum is wonderful....thank you!

When my doctor came in to visit me day after surgery, he said "Welcome to your new life" ...and I have to agree. Its a whole new beginning. I am now 6 weeks post op, and at about 99%. Feel good, no pain, in physical therapy getting stronger each day. I will probably have the other side done in 4 or 5 years doc said.  I will be ready !

It is wonderful to hear how well you are doing! Just in time for the holidays...be careful in the snow and on ice.

      Happy New Hip To You!
