Anti- depressants . My story

Posted , 2 users are following.

Ive been on anti-D for the best part of a year . When I first started taking them my dosage was 50mg but increased to 100mg within 6 weeks . At first I was hoping for immediate effect that I would wake up and feel better. It doesn't work like that . It's a process of ups and downs. I learnt to take each day as it comes and not get stressed at how long it takes to get better. A few months ago I felt better so decided to stop my medication but this only led to me feeling worse and going back on them. Please if you feel better talk to your dr first I felt good but from stoping I ended up 10 steps back. You will know within yourself how you feel :-) stay positive and happy.

Always here to talk .

    Hi there.

I had a chat with my doctor this morning regarding lowering my dose to 25mg,which we agreed on & I'm going to give it a go. I have only been on AD's at 50mg just over 4months but I honestly do feel better,on top of my life again. The reason I am decreasing to eventually discontinue is because of the sexual side affects & the long term risks they don't warn you about before you start. Pardon me if I am being a bit forward but do you suffer or did you suffer from any sexual problems after starting the medication? It's really freaked me out!

Thank you for replying . To answer your question I noticed I had no sex drive or I couldn't climax . My partner he didn't notice but It become a pattern if I took a anti-d . I did talk to my dr and she recommended maybe changing my meds but I declined.

It takes a little longer to enjoy a sex life now but it's not a stress . Maybe try different methods . Hope this helps.

Try not to be worried and stressed do what's best for you :-)

It's a challenge at the start . Back and forth but it does take time . Sadly I don't like waiting and wish there is a miracle cure .

Hopefully this time round it works out for you . I think with a good dr who understands you and other support it helps but mostly down to believing you will get better helps. :-) I'm online if you want to talk.

      Take care . Xx

      Ps dislike side effects
