Anti histamines

Hi lovely ladies. I just wondered if anyone takes anti-histamines to help remedy anything? I feel like my nose is constantly stuffy, my old GP was 99% certain I have nasal polyps but any chance of getting that sorted at the moment is zero! I've now got the horrible tight sometimes dry throat, high up, which I haven't had for about 2 years. Achey shoulders and neck. It's been a stressful week so I'm hoping it will subside. I know our histamine levels play up during meno. I just wondered if there's anyway of balancing them?

Best wishes to you all.

Thank you.

Thanks Toria. I'm already gluten free. I'll try and eliminate some more foods on the list. I might take an antihistamine to see if it helps.

I hope you're doing okay. xx

hi terri, youre welcome, ive been better but trying to troop on, terrible histamine problems myself grrrrr, do you take magnesium at all? xx

Hi Toria, I used to take Magnesium when I just had muscle twitching and bad sleep to deal with. I've started taking menopause multi vit again in the bid to boost my B vits, Iron etc. I eat really healthily but need to build some muscle.

What do you take to help. Have you tried anti-histamines in the past? xxx

ive had to take them the last 2 days but they wear off in 4 hours, cant take them everyday unfortunately as they mess my tummy up, im now dairy, gluten free and low histamine, i use magnesium glycinate powder and occasionally zinc, and have an epsom salt bath everynight ( not too hot as heat releases histamine ) here if you need to talk xx

Thanks Toria, your diet must be so limited now!?

I virtually lost my sense of smell, years ago so eating isn't as enjoyable as it was and I love cooking.

In what way do the antihistamines help you? xx

Wow, the complete opposite to me. I've got nasal polyps which is probably the cause.

Well, I took an anti-histamine at bed time last night. I slept for 9.5 hours (unheard off) even the non drowsy ones make me sleepy, hence taking it at bedtime. I could actually smell a few things this morning which made me feel nauseous. 🙄 Ha ha, can't win! I'm trying to combat sleeping with my mouth open all the time. It's so bad for your body, with awful side effects.

Do you get any good days Toria? I hope you get some relief. It's debilitating at times isn't it and women shouldn't have to put up with it.

Thank you for the tip re sterimar. I'll take a look now.

      Take care of yourself. Tx
