From what i have heard and read on ant virals is that they do not help with EBV and have a bunch of side effects. I personally have never even thought about them after reading up on them so that is more of a person to person risk reward. I have read that there has been no proof that they help at all with mono. Good luck if you do try them though. I know after a while people including me will try anything to feel better.

I'm afraid I can't offer much guidance as haven't tried anti-virals, I have seen some people on different forum threads here talk about it though and said they have tried them - I hope that folks can post some of their experiences of this on here.
Very much hoping you are okay Keith, just a reminder that there is hope and recovery and good health again after mono, I remember finding that hard to see as I went through the virus and felt so unwell for an extended period, but things do get better Keith and there is health and life again after this virus - hang in there.
